Sun, sailing, pure bliss
On the first day, the company arrived in Lelystad at the harbour in a large bus. As project manager, I was already happily awaiting the customer. We were greeted by fantastic weather with bright sunshine. This circumstance of course immediately led to the best mood among the 60-strong group. After a group photo with the harbour in the background, I led the group to their luxurious 3 Master with 60 meters length. The crew was already waiting with drinks and finger food. The captain welcomed everyone to the special company trip with holiday feeling.
Relax and let yourself drift
On the occasion of a company anniversary, a great speech was also held shortly after the departure of the ship, which was immediately toasted. The customers enjoyed themselves exuberantly on the ship. On the deck at the tables, one or the other story was told animatedly over a glass of wine or beer. The braver ones could make themselves comfortable on the nets at the bow of the ship and sail towards the sun with the Ijsselmeer directly below them. For one very adventurous member of staff, the sailor was also happy to get out climbing equipment. Soon she was happily climbing around the lofty heights of the 900sqm sails. The captain also let two enthusiastic boys take the wheel from time to time. With the beaming faces, perhaps a future career as a captain is in sight.
In teams of three, the one or other gentlemen could help hoist the sails and flex their muscles. This of course led gladly to the competition, which was cheered on in a large round. After dinner, the sailing ship gradually sailed into the port of Amsterdam. Most of the customers did not want to end the first day of their company trip here and streamed into the 4-star hotel after checking in. This was located right on the Amsterdam river. Perfect to experience the night and the colorful nightlife.
Sightseeing from the water and cheese tasting
The next morning our way led us on a typical canal trip across the lively Amsterdam. Comfortably we could see different sights from the water. For one or the other night owl the perfect program for the second day. Collected we walked to the cheese tasting, which took place in two groups of 35 men. During the 1-hour cheese tasting, the secrets of the Old Amsterdam cheese were revealed, different types of cheese were tasted and enjoyed with corresponding wines. In the time where the one group was, the other group could explore Amsterdam on their own.
With a surprise souvenir in my hand as a souvenir, I said goodbye to the cheerful group back on the bus at noon. The company trip may be over, but the memories of this great incentive trip remain with me as well as the customer. The entire sailing trip on the Ijsselmeer but also the trip through Amsterdam I finally held through the lens of my camera for the corporate client.
