Company outing to the Eifel - more than just hiking! b-ceed: strong ideas

The Eifel is the destination for the company outing

We went on a search for the extraordinary hot spots of the Eifel with the company.

Spring has arrived in the Eifel. The time has come again for outdoor events. The Eifel has a lot to offer, especially at this time of year when nature comes back to life. A company outing combined with exciting sightseeing is just the right event now. And where better to experience this than in the Eifel. A region steeped in legend, with picturesque scenery and profound history. The Eifel is the pearl of not one but two German states, North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate. The Eifel offers numerous lakes and hiking trails. So I grabbed my colleagues and we set out for you. Let's start with a hike to find the exceptional hot spots of the region. With camera, hiking boots and above all a lot of fun.

Formerly Ordensburg - today starting point of the best Ranger Tour: Vogelsang

Explore Vogelsang Castle on a company outing
Vogelsang Castle - Source: Wikipedia

Unbeaten are the extensive hiking trails that connect historical places and sights. Our tour starts in Vogelsang, a former Nazi order castle. It is considered one of the largest structures of National Socialism. After the Second World War it was first taken over by the British forces before being used as "Camp Vogelsang" by the Belgians as a military training area until 2005. The building stands as a symbol of Germany's historical development into a part of modern Europe. We receive this exciting information about Vogelsang and many other details from a ranger with a real Mounty hat. He personally accompanies us the whole hike. What a luxury.

Three hours of hiking and more: Wollseifen in the Eifel is a "real" ghost town

Ghost village of Wollseifen. Source: Wikipedia

Our three-hour hike, which offers several breathtaking natural highlights of the Eifel, culminates in Wollseifen. The place is also known as a ghost town. The village of 500 souls was cleared in 1946 in favour of a military training area. There are still a few historic buildings to be seen: the ruins of the St. Rochus church, parts of the old village school, remains of the transformer house and the wayside shrine at the entrance to the village. The abandoned village gives a ghostly atmosphere. It reminds us of one of the numerous Lost Places of Germany and that in the middle of the Eifel. As a hobby photographer, you get your money's worth on this day.

The main thing is that it tastes good: finale in a rustic restaurant not far from nature

This hike through the Eifel is followed by an extensive meal with delicious treats in a local restaurant in rustic style. That has to be, after all, you should also be able to enjoy culinary delights.

Our conclusion: The Eifel is one of the highlights of Germany for a company outing.

We have experienced an unforgettable day that combines history, dreamlike insights into nature and a final goosebump feeling. Our company outing in the Eifel is rounded off with a delicious meal in a cosy atmosphere.
