Graffiti Workshop and Creative Puzzle Painting.

As a new member of b-ceed, I was quickly able to accompany and lead my first teambuilding events. This experience report gives a brief insight into two creative events that I conducted. At the "Graffiti Workshop Action Art" and the "Creative-Puzzle Painting" I had to support teams and work out new ways. It was a very exciting and eventful experience that I would like to share with you.

At the end of August I was in Wesel and last week in Bochum on two really very intensive teambuilding events. In Wesel, several works of art were created together with graffiti, while in Bochum the group worked on a joint work of art.

Strategic team event with graffiti

Creative Graffiti Teambuilding Events with b-ceedThe first and most important step in a strategic team event is the consultation with the customer. Not only the number of participants and the location played a role, but also the goal of the event. At the Graffiti Workshop we discussed in advance which goals should be achieved and which key words should be the focus of the event. The client was particularly interested in the team spirit of this teambuilding event. Since it was a hotel business, these are very important aspects.

Since I was now aware that I had to act as a trainer in order to work out the goal with the participants, I got support in advance. A few days before the event, we sat down as a team and played out the scenario. How do I introduce the topic to the guests? What keywords do I give? How do I start a discussion? I was given helpful tips and information that I was able to implement wonderfully on site.

Keywords, goals and team building

And off we went. The participants were first given the task of introducing themselves to each other and one after the other, since it was a motley group. The next step was to work out the key words. With the help of a question and answer game, we worked out the most important central ideas together. The group was very reserved at the beginning. But by purposefully involving everyone, even the shyest among them later cooperated with motivation. The theoretical part was done and we had our key words: team spirit, cooperation, cordiality.

An event with team spirit, imagination and a lot of motivation

In order to be able to follow in the footsteps of a graffiti artist at the team event "Action Art", a few theoretical tasks have to be done at the beginning. The participants had to graphically represent the words "hate" and "love" on paper. Sounds easy? Not necessarily, because the two words had to be illustrated in such a way that one could see at first glance what they meant. Almost all participants depicted the word "love" with a red heart or in colorful curved lines, while the word "hate" was sketched with lightning bolts or black, unrecognizable writing. The participants expressed the feeling to the words perfectly in their graphics. They now knew what it means to represent a word with paint and calligraphy. So it could go to the spray cans.

A team - together everyone achieves more

Creative Graffiti Teambuilding Events with b-ceedSince with the Graffiti team event To create many small works of art, I divided the group into three teams. Each group got one of the three previously developed keywords. These were now to bring with graffiti spray cans on the canvases. Since the three words somehow belonged together, the task was to incorporate the other two words. After a short consideration of how a simple word can be put on canvas with a spray can, the creative part of the teambuilding event started.

Little by little, very colourful and imaginative pictures emerged. It was totally exciting to see how the participants developed different ideas from a single word and how they interpreted the word. With the help of a few materials such as stencils and wooden letters, many great graffiti artworks were created. To wrap up the event, I did a short reflection. The groups looked at the works of the other participants. All groups noticed that they found the three guiding words on all works. The participants now realized that each of the words was important for them. Because without one, the other cannot work. Goal achieved.

A large whole is created from small pieces - the jigsaw puzzle

Creative puzzle teambuilding events with b-ceedSimilar to our graffiti event is our colorful and creative teambuilding puzzle painting event. Recently I was able to get to know and accompany this event. Similar to the graffiti workshop, it's about working together to create and implement something. This client had to create his own Design giant puzzle. Can't you imagine? I couldn't either at the beginning. But it works - and what comes out of it is unique.

Identification - A sense of belonging

In Bochum, everything revolved around the topic of identification. An open question round brought the participants towards the target word. Since this was a very relaxed and harmonious group, an intensive discussion developed very quickly. For each participant the identification started somewhere else. For some already in the morning at the wardrobe and for others only at work.

In order to come to a common goal, the participants were given the task of sketching a word and a picture on your sheet. What does identification mean to you? In this creative team event, this is a very good opportunity for the participants to deal with the concept. Many different ideas and works of art were created. But not all artworks fit on a puzzle. Together in the group it was decided which of the 21 graphics best illustrate the identification. A decision in the team, which already ensures here that the participants work together on something. While the participants had a short break, we set about drawing the chosen graphics and words on the blank puzzle.

Reaching the common goal with innovation and imagination

Afterwards, every single participant received his own puzzle piece, which he had to paint with imagination and acrylic paint. There were no specifications, the participants can give free rein to your creativity. When the participants had designed all the puzzle pieces, they were then puzzled together. From the many small individual parts a large whole became. The participants became aware that this approach is also reflected in a team. In conclusion, team success comes from the sum of the parts.

Creative puzzle teambuilding events with b-ceedI have led and participated in two really exciting team events. I was fascinated by how differently groups act and what great works of art can be created. Nevertheless, both groups have achieved the set goal and were very surprised by themselves. Together they worked out a great goal and implemented it in a creative team event, so that they always have something where they can see what they have achieved as a team.
