event planning company Internship: Report by Anna Lu

event planning company internship - anna lu event management intern at b-ceed

Internship in an event planning company - what does it bring me for the future?

That's exactly what many young people ask themselves. Here is a field report from Anna Luisa.

Exactly in the most eventful and exhausting time in the event industry, I joined b-ceed as a 3-month intern in event management. I experienced a lot, found out a lot about myself and took a lot with me. Here I give a short insight into how my internship in an event agency went.

Anna Lu did an internship in event management with us.

What did I do?

My tasks as an intern at the event planning company b-ceed were very versatile. I helped plan and execute many events and was able to learn about the many aspects of event management. My main focus was researching and assisting with the planning and execution of various corporate events. One event that I was able to manage frequently was Murder at the Lord. I thoroughly enjoyed having so much fun with the participants. Speaking in front of large groups, being professional to clients and partners, and making sure everything ran smoothly are all part of an event manager's job. What was especially fun was developing new products and projects for b-ceed. Seeing the events that my colleagues and I created and planned together implemented live on site was really great.

What have I learned?

Before I started my internship at the event planning company, I didn't think I would actually get so much out of the job. On the one hand, I learned how to deal with customers and write business emails. On the other hand, I learned how important it is to give 100% even under time pressure. Through the tasks I was entrusted with, I gained self-confidence. I became more confident in my appearance and suddenly I didn't mind welcoming 80 people from all over the world in English. Probably the most exciting and the time I will remember the most is the Christmas season. Around 30 events in December, including 8 mobile Christmas markets, had to be managed during my internship at the company. Managing one of these Christmas markets was really nerve-wracking, but through this experience I can handle responsibility and stress better.

What's expected of you?

You have to be willing to go beyond yourself. Resilience is probably the key word here. Being an event manager is not just a "9 to 5" job. While I did spend a lot of time in the office during my internship at the event planning company, putting concepts into action. Most company events take place in the evenings or even on weekends. Enjoying organizing and being in contact with people from all over the world are basic requirements. A confident appearance and the ability to communicate are equally important. Professionalism and independent work are the be-all and end-all.

What do I take away from my time at b-ceed?

My three month event planning company internship definitely taught me a lot. I was introduced to the business world, learned how to plan through a large corporate event and most importantly, how to work as part of a team. I am one step closer to knowing what I want to do in life and I can thank b-ceed for that. My event planning company internship has given me more confidence and I am much more comfortable with big responsibilities. Merci, b-ceed!

b-ceed says: "Thank you dear Anna Lu for three incredibly strong months"!

Our thanks go to Anna Lu, who unfortunately accompanied us for only three months from November 2017 to the end of January 2018. We are very proud of Anna Lu, not only because she is a very lovely person, but also because she has a mature personality. At her young age, she is determined to take life into her own hands and have experiences that not everyone would. She is courageous, strong, self-confident and has moved our team, our work and ultimately the entire company forward. Dear Anna Lu: THANK YOU for your great commitment and good luck for the future. We hope to see you again soon 🙂 .

Very dear and above all many greetings,
Marvin and the whole b-ceed team
